This collection of field recordings was made during a two-month stay in Japan between August and October 2019.

 

The project was a collaboration with the British Library’s Sound Archive to create a commissioned collection of audio field recordings exploring the present day practices and rituals of Japanese spiritual individuals and communities, and examining the relationship that exists between spirituality and nature within Japanese culture.

The collection will be available to listen to free of charge through the British Library Sound Archive's Listening Service and website.
